WNR2000 dropping connection?

I did a firmware upgrade to the netgear router and when I download files whether that be from newsgroups or patching for games the router now crashes.

Well I say that when I look at windows 7 it says connection from pc to router is fine but connection from router to modem has gone down.

I have to reset the modem the new firmware was 1.2.3.7

Just wondering what is the IP to connect to the modem its self so I can check the power levels?
