Windows Mail cannot send email when using mobile phone as access point

I have a standard Virgin Media (ex-Ntlworld) broadband and email account. When I use the connection at home Windows Mail works OK. However when I am away from home I use my O2 phone (unlimited data account) as an access point using Nokia PC Suite / Ovi which works well for browsing but I can only receive email using Windows Mail. When attempting to send I get "Server Error: 421, Error Number: 0x800CCC67" using my mobile phone to connect. Anyone got any ideas ? I guess it's because the O2 connection appears as something else to Virgin Media and gets refused. Can I change my Windows Mail settings to circumvent this ?

Thanks in advance for any help

Re: Windows Mail cannot send email when using mobile phone as access point

You will not be able to send mail using your mobile if you are trying to send via your virgin media account. You have to be directly connected to a virgin media system for that.

It is an antispam security thing.

O2 should be able to provide you with the details of their email server for your phone which can be used for mail sending. You can still setup the account for people to respond to your VM addresses.
