Transferring sim card

I havea Motorola W377 phone on PAYG on the Tesco network and the sim card still has about £30 credit on it. 3 questions, 1, will this sim card work in a new PAYG Virgin mobile, 2, can I transfer the credit, and 3, can I keep my number? Thanks

Re: Transferring sim card

You will be able to keep the sim number but not be able to transfer the credit as when the number ports over the credit will be lost !

O2 sims work in TESCO mobile as o2 runs TESCO mobile :
T-MOBILE will only work in virgin phones and vice versa :

Yes, because of the 30p per day Internet thingy

Re: Transferring sim card

Can some just check this for me to see if I understand it correctly. To get the 30p per day internet usage, do you have to top up £10 per month?

Re: Transferring sim card

You can only put your Tesco SIM into another Tesco locked phone or a phone locked to Tesco's parent network o2. If you get your phone unlocked you can use it with Virgin but you can't transfer credit. You can also transfer your number, but use your credit up first.

I went from Virgin to Tesco earlier this year, mainly because I'm a light user, and I also got fed up with the crap T-Mobile coverage in some areas.

You can't even do that, a phone that is locked to Tesco can only have Tesco and not O2 and a phone locked to O2 can only have O2 and not Tesco. So annoying but O2 is better than Tesco so it's worth the unlocking fee if you buy a Tesco phone

Re: Transferring sim card

As I say I'm a light user, and Tesco PAYG Lite is saving me 2/3 of what Virgin cost me. I also never buy a phone thats locked to a network, as I don't see why a network should dictate what phone I have, and if you decide to leave all you need is a PAC.
