Question Home network problem

Hi all

I wonder if anyone can help me as I've got a bit of a problem with my home network that someone setup for me. I've got a router connecting two PC's and, on one of them, there are 3 additional hard drives which are labelled as D, E and F. On the other PC, I can "see" these drives but I can only access/change the F drive. I can see the top-level directories of the D and E drives but any attempt to access the directories or do anything at all and I simply get an "Access Denied" error. I've checked/right-clicked on everything I can think of on the PC that the 3 drives are part of and, as far as I can tell, the security settings/permissions for the F drive are identical in every way to the other two...

Any idea what I can do to fix this?

cheers

Re: Home network problem

My first thought is that you need to set the root directories of D and E drives to be share'd on the network.

What O/S are you running?

Re: Home network problem

The drives are shared but you have no rights to them, either add the user to the shared PC and give them permissions to the drives or use a user/password of the shared PC

How do I do that? Is there some settings on the F drive that I can see that I can replicate on the D and E drives? Like I said, they all seem identical as far as I can tell...

Re: Home network problem

right click on the drive, choose sharing and check all the settings in there including permissions
