New NetGear WRN2000 problems

Hi folks. Newbie on here.

Just purchased a Netgear WRN1000 router but am experiencing a few problems following installation.

Basically, the desktop PC fails to see the SSID I'd allocated to it on setup, it currently states it's connected to 'Network3' and it can't see anyother networks when prompted. More worryingly for me, is that I cannot seem to access the router settings when I either go to 192.168.1.1 or via the icon on my desktop that appeared following installation. In both instances I'm prompted to input user name and password. I've input the SSID as the username and the WPA2 password, but it keeps asking me to do it again.

My laptop is connected fine to the router to the correct SSID. I have 5 bars on the signal strength icon, which I've never experienced before with a previous (Belkin) router, but I lose connection by the time I've taken the laptop to the top of the stairs in the house, and I never had this problem before.

My Ipod touch shows the correct SSID, but either says 'wrong password' or 'unrecognised password' despite the same one being input when requested. The Ipod touch did connect with no problems when the router was first installed and wasn't protected with a WPA2 password.

Xbox live also picks up the SSID, but cannot connect for some reason.

Sorry it's a bit long-winded. Not too familiar with networking, and a bit frustrated at this point. At least I can access this forum though!

TIA
