Vehicles filmed crossing damaged Calva Bridge
Stupid bloody people, I mean really.
Quote:
There have been repeated warnings about the danger of using Workington's Calva Bridge, after vehicles were filmed driving over it on Thursday morning.
It is thought drivers removed the safety barriers preventing people from crossing the bridge, which was severely damaged by flooding last week.
Judith Moritz reports from Workington

Re: Vehicles filmed crossing damaged Calva Bridge
If the bridge had collapsed I bet their families would have been up in arms trying to blame the council or the government for it.
At least the barriers have been strongly reinforced now to prevent any more idiocy from those stupid drivers.

Re: Vehicles filmed crossing damaged Calva Bridge
I don't care if the van drivers wanted to kill themselves but they are **** for putting other lives at risk like the emergency services.

Re: Vehicles filmed crossing damaged Calva Bridge
Shall l tell you something, firstly, the drivers of both vans should have BOTH been sacked, they put a entire village under threat, as the weight of the vans could have crushed the bridge into the water, and that includes the emergency services, how stupid, sencondly, the white van league had two things on there minds, selfess employers that didn't give monkey's all they wanted was the MONEY, for the goods, and probabely self employed drivers who wanted the money, pathetic and stupid.

Re: Vehicles filmed crossing damaged Calva Bridge
Don't forget this bridge carries around a thousand phone lines so should these fools have collapsed it then many people would be without telecoms

Re: Vehicles filmed crossing damaged Calva Bridge
This is what amazed me the other day when I heard about drivers still truing up at the bridge at Workington, expecting it to be there, because their satellite navigation told them to go there. Were these people living on a different planet for the weekend?

Re: Vehicles filmed crossing damaged Calva Bridge
Some silly person moved the barriers, and then some other drivers got sent over it by their sat navs.
The majority who went over were not locals.
It has been sorted now, no one will get over it.
