Quickstart installation help please

Hi i used to have virgin broadband and cancelled it about 4 months ago i recently phoned them and started back up again. Today i recieved my quickstart pack and modem and since i already had the broadband cable i used to use in my room i connected it to my modem aswell as the plug and it dosent work. The enet light is on the send light is flashing the recv light isnt doing anything the sync light is on and the ready light is flashing. I was wondering if anybody would have any ideas to what i have done wrong any help would be greatly appreciated.

Have you called the quickstart number to have your equipment and account activated?

I didnt realise i had to do that it didnt say that in the guide thanks for letting me know i will phone them now
