50mb Problem Engineer Booked next Thursday
Right I have a problem with my 50mb, I had been on 20mb for 2 years and 10mb before that for a few years.
Speeds are sometimes blistering fast I get around 48mb sometimes but at bad times it is around 4mb. looking at DU meter when I am downloading from Newsgroups speeds fluctuates so much. I mean my graps are up and down like a yoyo. Engineers are coming to my house next week to replace the modem as they think this is the root cause of the problem. Looking here I can see various users experiencing the same thing.
If anyone is getting the full 50mb could someone post there power readings from there modem. I want the engineer to sort my issue, when I get home tonight I post my power readings and some graphs.

Re: 50mb Problem Engineer Booked next Thursday
Although I havent personally experienced the problem myself I know lots of other people have had the same problem. I can remember reading somewhere last week that it was a system wide problem to do with the routers or something. I think the reason why your speed is up and down is due to massive packet loss.

Could somebody check my modem stats, and highlight any problems if you can see any. Engineer is due out to replace modem. I think it could be something else effecting my poor speeds also.

Re: 50mb Problem Engineer Booked next Thursday
My 50meg has been going at 12 for the last 3 days. someone was going to come and fix it today but Oh dear, Virgin just called, they cant send anyone out today because no one that is "trained" in 50meg is free.
Trained! they read step by step screen shots off a peice of paper to set the thing up!! So frustrating, its not that hard, just come out a replace my modem and router!

Re: 50mb Problem Engineer Booked next Thursday
I am getting same all tests I do.
Newsbin Pro 10 or 20 connections
Newsleecher 10 or 20 connections
Currently subscribes to giganews, newshosting and easynews.
What ever way I configure the servers same erratic speeds.
No antivirus / firewall connected modem directly to pc.
Tried with imac and dell laptop and seeing same results.
Yeah there sending a special engineer tomorrow that is 50mb trained we will see when engineer gets here.
