IE7 problem
Hi guys. Over the last week or so I've started having an intermittent problem with IE7 which is more annoying than anything else. At certain times, especially after first booting up, I click on the IE icon in the taskbar and the IE window opens only to stall. If I click on it again another IE window opens and my homepage comes up as normal. The original IE window usually fails to load and I either get a message telling me there's a problem and IE needs to close or if I try to close it manually I get a message to say the programme is not responding etc... When I've chosen to send an error report, I get back a message saying the problem is known by Microsoft but no fix is available right now. I don't know if this is just a standard default message sent out when stuff like this happens though. We have 2 limited users accounts set up for our kids and both have been having a similar problem virtually since they were created but they're rarely used and we've just lived with it. Now however the problem is affecting IE on our admin account.
I've done a thorough Avast virus scan of my hard drive (excluding archive files) and found no issues there so I'm wondering what it might be. I'm very happy with IE for my limited surfing needs and don't want the hassle of changing browsers and all that might entail so is there anything I can do to find out what's wrong and fix it?

Just an update. I did a Google search and found another forum thread relating to this problem. One suggested fix was to remove the Google Toolbar so I disabled it, restarted the PC and the problem seems to have gone.... Of course it's early days yet but I do recall some sort of recent Google toolbar update but am not sure if that co-incided with the problem first appearing on our main admin. account. Anyway, I like the easy to use search facility with the Google toolbar so is there any way I can get around this problem and re-instate Google but fix/avoid the IE problem?
Cheers.

Re: IE7 problem
I've had exactly the same problem on my desktop too! But strangely not on my laptop and both are running the latest google toolbar. However it started on the desktop after the google toolbar update so I think I'll try uninstalling and then reinstalling for a clean install & see if that helps.

You could make Google your home page and/or install Google into your browsers 'Links ToolBar'.

Will make no difference, it's a toolbar issue not a browser issue. IE 8 shows the same problem for me.
