Cool Belkin wireless G router

I have just purchased a Belkin G wireless router an wireless adapter for my computer and laptop.I have installed both and they are workin in unity when on sites and surfing the web but when I use either my computer or my laptop on my Windows Live Messenger I see a few messeges from who im talking to in the speech box,then it seems to show neither my text to who im talking to an also not showing the other persons.
Can any body please shine some light on this subject as I cant seem to find any help to correct this problem PPLLLLLLEEEAAAAAASSSSSSSEEEEEEE HHEEEEEELLLLLLPPPPPPPPPPPPPPP xx

i have turned the firewall completely off but still no joy

It might be the settings in msn itself.
What version of windows are u running?

windows xp I have been told it could be settings in msn but u r talkin to a novice wen it comes 2 settings on msn i dont normally get into the tech side,i have managed to change a hard drive an reload windows on comp but thats all.
