Connecting Netgear DGN2000

Hi gang.
I am hoping someone could advise me please. I am currently using a Motorola SB5100 cable modem for my Internet with Virgin. Someone has kindly bought me a Netgear DGN2000 wireless router so we can use our laptop downstairs.

Are they easy to set up please? I did read in a forum that these two are not compatible - but I am hoping this is wrong!

Cheers

Moved to networking.

your router will come with an easy set up cd most likely. Power down pc and modem plug modem into router via enet into the wan port connect router to pc via ethernet and lan port 1. Power up modem allow to settle power up router allow to settle power up pc then run the routers cd. You most likely have completed half of it by following my instruction but you will need to set up the wireless.
