Amazon cuts free delivery threshold.
Quote:
Amazon is scrapping delivery fees to drive sales of lower priced items.
The online retail giant is to cut its free delivery threshold from the previous level of £15 to £5.

Re: Amazon cuts free delivery threshold.
Wonder if they'll go back to using city link exclusively rather than royal fail creeping in again.

Re: Amazon cuts free delivery threshold.
What annoys me is I can see the Amazon depot from my house yet I still have to pay for delivery

I can't possibly see them using Citylink for £5 items and not charging delivery.

Re: Amazon cuts free delivery threshold.
I'd be perfectly happy for them to take City Link out of the equation. I've had nothing but problems with those idiots, so much so that I've generally avoided online retailers that use them.

Re: Amazon cuts free delivery threshold.
Much the reverse for me. I try and avoid retailers that use royal mail, just can't trust them. Order stuff first class and it takes 5-10 working days to arrive after it has been physically posted, it never helped that amazon's dispatch process is vague and seems to churn along sometimes. I know this isn't amazon's fault but I'm pretty sure they were aware of issues which is why they opted for city link for smaller items sometimes.
City link are poor for high value items. I know someone who received a tv that had a corner knocked out of it. Sent it back. Same again. In my work dealings city link were all right, but we always got the same driver which rather eliminated problems.
Cut to £5 is certainly radical.

In my experience they always use 2nd class though and stuff can take ages.
Still, free is free I suppose.

Re: Amazon cuts free delivery threshold.
The thing is that any CF member using the Amazon link down at the bottom of the page helps to pay costs for this site.So if they are cutting delivery costs..good!

They used first for my 2 things this week, but since they come from Jersey which is effectively out the EU, it can take longer.

Re: Amazon cuts free delivery threshold.
Ah right.
Maybe changed then. I stopped using them a while ago because of having to wait.
