i keep getting msn pop ups poping up saying sumat like hi my name is ----- this isnt my msn but if u sign up on this site then you can talk to me and i am wondering how on earth do i get rid of them and stop them popping iv been getting them for a while now and its starting to annoy me iv tried my virus checker and so on and nothing works so does anybody have any ideas as i want it to stop
no they pop up on my desktop and basically say the exact same but with a change of name iv tried banning the msn addy then say 20 min later another one will pop up

If it's MSN contacts then go to TOOLS, OPTIONS, PRIVACY and make sure the "only people on my contact lists can see my status and send me messages" box is ticked.
If the pop-ups aren;t coming via MSN then you've got some sort of adware/spyware on your system
Do you mean MSN (now Windows Live Messenger) or Windows Messenger?
If the popups look lie this, it's Windows Messenger, and you should stop the messenger service (unless you have a reason not to do so, but I can't really think of one...)
