Broadband Issues

Hello everyone am new here, first post.
I have been with Virgin Media for 14months. I currently run on the 10mb (L) option and pay £18pm.
Sometime whilst online my internet will drop. If i hit refresh a few times it carries back on as usual. Some days i will have to do this loads. Some days none at all. I also run a PS3 online, and this will disconnect from the server due to this 'fault'.
I have rang Virgin, they did a line check and all was fine. I then rang back and was told my line would be monitored for any drops in service. There wer some but the technician todl me there wasn't. Now i know 3 other people on Virgin in my area who are having the exact same issue. Yet Virgin refuses to listen. Now am not 100% but this issue could be weather related but am not too sure.
Me and my friends shall be leaving if its not resolved.

Does anyon know what this problem is or had similar issues?

http://192.168.100.1/ - User name and password are both "root" without quotes.

Downstream Recieve power
Downstream SNR
Upstream Transmit power

Need those 3 levels

Downstream Recieve power: 2.1 dBmV
Downstream SNR: 43.2 dB
Upstream Transmit power: 41.0 dBmV

At the back on the Scientific Atlanta modem is a piece of metal that the optic wire goes into, then the metal goes into the modem. Kinda like a connector. But the tech guy put this on an he said it was cos the modem was getting to much power and this reduced some of it.

These are mine atm (for you to compare)

Downstream Receive Power Level : 9.0 dBmV
Downstream SNR : 39.1 dB
Upstream transmit Power Level : 44.0 dBmV

The only real difference seems to be the Downstream Receive Power

Im unsure if that would make such a difference, im sure somebody on here with more knowledge on that particular area will tell you shortly.

From what I hear the lower the better.

Yeah there is a huge gap between the Downstream Recieve Power.

Could it be throttling?
