Cisco PIX 501

Hi all,

Got a pix 501 here that is not responding.
The power light is lit.
The VPN tunnel light is lit.
The 4th link light is lit.

Bearing in mind that the only cable that is in is the power cable.
I have plugged a console cable in and got no response.

I think it is fubar but i'm hoping it could be salvaged...

Any ideas would be appreciated..

GM

Re: Cisco PIX 501

The ports I think can be individually set for speed/duplex, perhaps they're incorrect if you can;t comm with it. Also not sure about the 501 but other ciscos tend to exhibit this behaviour if the modules are lose or have dirty contacts....

Re: Cisco PIX 501

I assume you've power cycled it?

What are you using to try and access via the console cable? Hyperterm?

Re: Cisco PIX 501

Thanks for the replies..

I have powercycled it multiple times.
I may just pop the lid and see if i can see anything obvious and give it a wee clean.

I am using hyperterminal and I know it works cause I can get to the config of the other one I have (plus the cisco 800 router)

I think it has had it but because of my limited cisco knowledge i wanted to ask you guys....
