Netgear WPN824v2 Problem?

hi there im new to this forum been browsing and looks like there are some pretey helpfull people around here so i thought id join and see if you can help solve my problem.
i have had the range max netgear router for about 7 months now all was fine and working well my xbox broke and had to send it away when came back obviously all the networks settings were gone so i thought no worries just put it back on there an away we go, cut a long story short it didnt work tryed adjusting some of the settings in the router on doing this the router started to play up kept dropping the signal so and so forth. I had created a back up when i first recieve my router so i thought hey ill use that logged on to my router did that then it just stopped working the wireless was no longer transmitting but it did indicate that the internet was plugged in... naturaly i was stupped so i tryed resetting my router and it has stopped all together now the power lights comes on and thats it when i attach it to my computer and type 192.168.1.1 it acts likes nothing there!
I have tryed to put all the details in, i would really be greatfull for any ideas of suggestions as i lost the receipt and stuck with it!

Did you remember to change your IP address to the 192.168.1. range?

Re: Netgear WPN824v2 Problem?

Welcome to the forum by the way. You have to change the ip address of your network card to within the same range as the router, i.e. 192.168.1.x

If you do an ipconfig/all command from the command prompt it will tell you what your ip address is just now. If it's not in the desired range you have to change it.

To change your ip address: if you've got XP go into Control Panel, Network connections, right click on your LAN and choose properties, click on Internet Protocol(tcp/ip) and choose properties. Change the settings to that shown in the attachment.
