I cannot connect to my work server from my wireless connection
I just recently set up a wireless network at my work place, However with the new computers i have set up I'm not able to connect to my server at work by start > run > \\server name, or through a remote desktop connection. I'm using a Netgear wireless N rangemax router with the netgear 108mps wirless card, I'm able to connect those PC's to the internet but not to my server? Please Help!
Thanks,
MarkemX

Re: I cannot connect to my work server from my wireless connection
Is the server in the right IP range? It is quite normal for a server to have a static IP set, if it is not in the same subnet then there will be no access!
Oh and !

Can you browse the web from the server?

Re: I cannot connect to my work server from my wireless connection
may sound silly but check all PCs are using the same name, not sure if it is case sensitive

No thats not what I meant, when you put \\SERVERNAME in run or the explorer address bar, what exactly comes up/happens?

Are any of the Clients/Servers running Firewalls?

Re: I cannot connect to my work server from my wireless connection
Any DNS involved? Can you connect via IP address ( \\xxx.xxx.xxx.xxx)? I suspect it is something to do with name resolution. Presumably, the clients are on a different sub-net to the server, with the router ....routing.
