Free Virgin Phone "Scam"

so yesterday got a call from virgin media "so they say they are" and they were offering free phone, i think its a scam though, they said all you need to do is buy this adapter which costs £39.99 that connects to your modem and phone socket, when i asked who they were they said virgin, anyone else had this all?

Reckon it's a scam as AFAIK VM don't need adaptors to use their phone service.

Re: Free Virgin Phone "Scam"

Definately a Scam.

Virgin Media Cable Telephone uses their own cables to connect so you don't need an adapter

Virgin Media Beyond Cable Telephone currently uses CPS (Carrier Pre-Selection) so you don't need an adapter

Re: Free Virgin Phone "Scam"

Unless managment are up to old tricks of not telling Customer Care what they are doing but i doubt that.

It sounds like a scam or some dodgy company claiming to be Virgin, just like they do when your contracts just about up on your mobile. I must have had about 5 calls from someone claiming to be Virgin Mobile,
