Wireless connection problem

Hi all,

I've got a problem with my wireless network in that when im gaming my connection keeps lagging for a few secs or dropping out completely. This happens pretty much every 2-3 minutes.

Not only this but once i'm actually connected to my router, the best connection i get is 24mb (signal strength is excellent all the time) over the space of about an hour or so it gradually gets worse and drops down to 1mb then drops out totally.

My router is a belkin F5D7230v4 and i have a belkin wireless pci card....both are 54g. I also have Virgin 10mb cable for my connection.

We have just moved house where i used to use Virgin 4mb but i was wired to my router there and it was spot on, here though we have laminate flooring down and it is nigh on impossible to hard wire to the router now.

Any suggestions anyone?
