Another go slow

I'm on 4mb BB and I'm lucky to get 1mb this weekend, 756kbs is what I'm getting for download and 379kbs for upload.

I called virgin Media at 25p/m last night they said they did some tests and it was fine. I said well I have done a speed test and it said the above, they said we don't like you doing online speed tests. So after them getting me to clear my net files they said they will send a tech out on Wednesday.

Not being rude but it was the Indian call centre and I don't wont the fella to come out like last time and say there is nothing wrong this end, any ideas?

thanks.

Re: Another go slow

Im in the same situation but on the XL package I get full speeds around 1 am -8 am then around 9AM my speed drops to 1 meg which is just ridiculous.

Called VM to complain india told me it must be my computer I laughed and put the phone down, I then rang a couple of times at lunch time until I got a UK person...

He told me that they would send an engineer out but it is likely my UBR is overloaded, engineer came out checked the signal levels swapped the modem and went ...

Of course this didn't change my speed Ive tried multiple computers so I rang them back up and they have given me a discount because the ubr is completely overloaded they said it could take 8 months before its sorted .

Re: Another go slow

He came out today at 8.30am and of course it was fine it was getting around 2-3meg which he said was good for 4meg, but I don't when I'm paying for 4 and getting 2mb.

So he went again and now tonight it is back on this

Wed, 14 Nov 2007 21:55:44 UTC

Test 1: 1024K took 10140 ms = 101 KB/sec, approx 832 Kbps, 0.81 Mbps
Test 2: 1024K took 8375 ms = 122.3 KB/sec, approx 1008 Kbps, 0.98 Mbps
Test 3: 1024K took 12282 ms = 83.4 KB/sec, approx 687 Kbps, 0.67 Mbps
Test 4: 2048K took 18093 ms = 113.2 KB/sec, approx 933 Kbps, 0.91 Mbps

Overall Average Speed = approx 865 Kbps, 0.84 Mbps

Anyone got any ideas of what it might etc like techs etc?
