smtp error message

hello to all, I am new to this site , can anyone help?

have three computers in house, ntl modem to belkin router with 4 ports.
two computers downstair's one up. system hardwired(network installer)
oldest pc died so bought new one, new one plus other downstair's works fine.
origional downstair's pc now up stair's has problem.
it has a new IP and mask, gateway is blank, error message reads Host ntlworld.com could not be found, have checked server info all ok
that is in outlook express, int explorer says page could not be found, network con shows connected, speed 100mbsp shows sent packets ok but recieved nil. i am running out of option's Any idea's anyone????????????

Re: smtp error message

Gateway should be the IP of your router, eg 192.168.1.1 or something like that. If set to auto on the IP it should get it itself, but if you set it to static manual IP you'll need to put it in yourself.
