usb but no cable?

ok so hi everyone

im running usb broadband i did have ethernet working at 1 time but i had to have it going through a wireless router but the router was wired to my computer if that makes sence? :S anyway now when i try to install it without the router all i get is problem refreshing ip adress so now i have to use usb but desperately need ethernet any ideas?

Sorry, have to start with the obvious ones first... Have you tried rebooting the modem?

is there some way i can copy my i.p adress from my usb settings and add it to my ethernet ones?

jook202, you can try to fix your winsock, go to start, run, type "netsh winsock reset" without the quotes. You will get a black flash, then restart your pc. It should clear the problem.

i told them that on the phone and they sed the winsock files are damaged but they are blatently bull ****ting me
