xbox 360 routers.
Hi,
I have an old linksys BEFSR41 (V2) router which works fine with all the PCs, but whenever both the xbox 360s are on at the same time they will both get disconnected from xbox live so i've pretty much given up hope of it working and i'm thinking of buying a different router. I've been told that not many routers support two 360s online at the same time but someone recommended this one http://www.broadbandstuff.co.uk/prod...products_id=50
I was wondering if anyone knew if it would work with the two 360s and the PCs (All wired)
Thanks for any help.

Re: xbox 360 routers.
Well i would suggest a netgear router.
Really any netgear router though as my experience from netgear is that all of them have worked with everything on.
+ they are designed for gaming.

I have the Linksys WRT54G when using two xbox360's a lap top and desk top PC not had any problems using this router. The main PC is hard wired, the lap top and the two xbox360's are wireless.

Re: xbox 360 routers.
Are you sure netgear routers are designed for gaming? The one I had would drop every couple of hours and require a power cycle. I know 3 different people with exactly the same router (WGR614v6) who have EXACTLY, and I say EXACTLY the same problem.
Agreed with above poster, since binning the netgear and buying a linksys WRT54GL, I've not had a problem.

Why not research it?

Re: xbox 360 routers.
Ive just uploaded version 'wgt624v3_v1_0_128_1_0_1.chk' which has cured the problem that i was having. You can obtain the firmware from the netgear website.

In fact, the only router I've EVER seen which was designed specifically for gaming is this one.

I use one of these and it's a decent box although I believe that they are now out of production and can be difficult to get hold of. The "Gamefuel" technology is merely a fancy bit of terminology for a basic implementation of CoS/QoS so you could create one rule to set all traffic from the console as priority 1 and deem everything else out of profile. You can also fiddle around with the NAT filtering options which is handy if you're experiencing connectivity problems to other players over p2p gaming networks such as Xbox Live.

Re: xbox 360 routers.
Which you just connected to your current router I take it? (Given that is an access point and not a router)
