I'm hoping one of you experts will be able to help me!

I have a Netgear WNR854T router and an Asus F3SV laptop running Vista Ultimate which work very well together.
The laptop had Norton Internet Security 2007 preinstalled, so I didn't have the chance to set my preferences through the setup wizard. I am very likely to get rid of Norton (I have 3 months free but will probably not continue with it after that as I am sure it, or another Norton product, killed my last PC, but I need to tweak it to work properly until I replace it)

The issue I have is this:
I also have a Maxtor Shared Storage II (500GB) connected to the router and it is acting as a print server for my printer.
I can see both of these from my laptop, but network access privileges won't let me access folders on the NAS or print from the printer. The Vista diagnostic thingy identifies that it is down to 'Symantec something or other' (and could sort it out for me if I was using Windows instead ) but can't sort it out for me automatically or tell me what I need to do.
I have had a look at the Norton interface and I think I've found the right place to amend the settings, however, what I can see is Greek to me and I am nervous about fiddling in case I knacker what is working.
Does anybody happen to have the same combination of kit and able to point me in the right direction please?
Otherwise I might have to contact Norton Help and that could get me arrested...

Thanks!
C.
