When i first got 10Mb (when it launched) i had the silver 120.
Although it loaded the 10MB config file, the max speed i could get from it was 6MB. It was definitely rounding off at 6.. the hardware couldn't do any more at the time.
I had to swap to a blue 250 to get the full 10mb. There was talk at the time of NTL releasing a firmware upgrade for the 120's that would allow the full 10MB - but im not sure if they ever did.
Do you get 10MB now on the silver 120? as in do you see downloads coming down at around 1200kbps? if so then something has obviously changed and the modems would seem to be capable. If not, i would guess people just check there configs - accept they are on 10MB and then moan about getting a crappy service when there downloads cant break past the 6MB mark.
yep, full 10mb for me at the moment, and has been ever since i switched from usb. guess i'll have to see what happens, someone else on here was told by virgin his 120 would definitely do 20mb. who knows?
