Re: Internet

I take it it's a PCI card in the desktop. I find the case tends to mask the signal because the aerial is so close to it. You could try an aerial extender, Maplin have a selection. Here's the cheapest: http://www.maplin.co.uk/Module.aspx?...ce=14&doy=20m4

No I was thinking you had a PCI card which fitted in the back of the case next to where the external graphics card goes. You've got the USB model which is normally well behaved. Have you tried connecting it to a different USB port on the computer, it could be a problem with the motherboard.

Re: Internet

Are you sure it's the signal? Another possibility is the usb port is powering down if there is a lack of activity due to power management. Here's how to check it\turn it off if it's enabled-
In Windows, click on Start > Control Panel (or Start > Settings > Control Panel).
Double-click on System, then open the Hardware tab.
Click Device Manager.
Click the + at Universal Serial Bus Controllers.
Right-click USB Root Hub and select Properties.
Open the Power Management tab.
Clear the checkmark from Allow the computer to turn off this device to save power.
Click OK.
Repeat this procedure for the USB 2.0 Hub.
