Am I paying too much?
Hi,
I just wanted your opinions.
I am with VM, after being with NTL for 9 years. I phoned them yesterday as I have never really changed my package, and still have a 1 mb broadband (I know, it should haved been upgraded, but it hasn't, even my bills still state 1mb). Anyway upgraded, to a 2mb (plenty for me), and whilst on the phone I thought I would ask about the V+. Ended up with the VIP pack with V+, 2 mb Broadband, and Talk Unlimited 24 for £72.99
Does this sound a lot or not really for what I have?
Just wondered.....

Re: Am I paying too much?
That sounds a lot to me, I am sure someone will be along soon to confirm.
Also welcome to the site.

Re: Am I paying too much?
Thank you for the welcome.
I did forget to add that I was 'talked' into keeping the set top box for another room(£5), so that is also included in the £72.99.

Re: Am I paying too much?
Does seem quite a lot but if you add it up I'm sure it will come to something near that price.
What TV package do you have?
2Mb broadband = £25
Talk Unlimited 24 = £25
V+HD = £10/£15 (Depends which TV package you have)

Re: Am I paying too much?
Thank you for your help, sorry haven't really given enough info have I !!!
I was told I will have the XL TV package as I at the moment I have the family pack and add on Cinemagic. I was informed the new XL will be the same as what I have now.
The CS explained that the 2mb Broadband would be £18 and then it would cost £54.99 for the phone and TV, bringing the total to £72.99.
Sorry should have been more informative when posting originally.

No, I dont think u are over paying if u are on the VIP pack, but having 2mb broadband instead of 10mb!
apparently on vip u get 2 bills
1. Broadband £35
2. Other things £50
so u have
1. Broadband £18
2. Other things £50+ 5 for the extra box! [So u have 2 normal digiboxes, and 1 V+ Box]
if that is correct, I dnt think u are overpaying....

Re: Am I paying too much?
Monthly costs usually are:
Virgin Broadband M: £18
Virgin TV XL: £35
Virgin Phone XL: £25
V+HD: £10
Second box: £5
Disney Cinemagic: £5
Total: £98
If you took a 3 for £30 deal and added the upgrades it would cost:
£30 + £9 (TV) + £14 (Phone) + £10 (V+HD) + £5 (Extra box) + £5 (Disney Cinemagic)
Total: £73
This is what deal the person has offered you. I would recommend you go for this deal, I think it's the cheapest deal you can get. Unless you don't mind paying extra for the VIP package...

Re: Am I paying too much?
Thank you so much.
I will now sit back and wait for the 15th March (earliest appt. apparently) for the V+ to be installed.
They are sending me a pack to upgrade the Broadband - that should be fun, not looking forward to it, but I'm sure after a few calls to tech support I will getting it up and running..... I work from home and am quite happy with my 1 mb, never had any problems and my motto is - if it ain't broke, don't fix it.
I know I will have a few problems as I have recently decorated and all the wires are.....under the brand new wooden floor. Oh I'll find a way !!!
