Monitoring your own download volumes

Does anyone know of any free utilities that will monitor how much data you are downloading, to help track how close to your monthly usage limit you are?

Re: Monitoring your own download volumes

I use netmeter, and i always have, but i'm not sure how much the hardened downloaders think it is reliable, it's done the job ok for me though.

Don't forget your upload as well as download, it all counts towards your monthly usage

As Pia says, NetMeter does the job fine, and it's free and doesnt take up much resources too.

Re: Monitoring your own download volumes

I've been using Bandwidth meter and find it OK (http://homepages.paradise.net.nz/link/tbm/). It measures upload and download for Today, Month (you can set which day it resets the month) and Total.
Don't forget if you have a network set up it will only monitor the PC it is installed on; therefore two PCs = two installs and add the usage.

Re: Monitoring your own download volumes

Thanks for your help so far. And no, I am not on an unlimited service!

Do any of these packages filter the measured data? I.e. so that it does not measure data that I have received from a local connection on the same NIC interface that I use to connect to the internet?

Bandwidth Monitor Pro
Admin Edit (Stuart): Please do not provide links to cracked or pirated programs.

You'll need a torrent program to download the file such as uTorrent
