Help......................please

Hi All,

I have a mini network connected, ethernet and wirelessly connected.

However recently I cannot see network shares from one to another.

Whenever I open network places the folder hangs and comes up with not responding.

1xpc is running Media Center 2005 2x are running XP pro,all are legit and all are running Ntl netguard, these are all tied together with a gigabit switch linked to a Linksys WRT45g.

Any help in solving this headache will be much appreciated

Regards

Re: Help......................please

Presumably all are in the same workgroup / domain ?

Have you run the file and printer sharing wizard so that firewalls and stuff on each PC will enable stuff.

You have actually enabled a shared folder? And permissions on the shares are valid across the network?

Re: Help......................please

Could be many things, but I would guess at the PC firewalls for a starter

I'd start with temporarily disabling netguard, see if that helps

Secondly, check that Windows firewall is set to allow file/print sharing

Can the machines ping each other? By name? By IP address?

Re: Help......................please

NTL Netguard was my problem. Try disabling and see if that works. I believe it is a known (??) problem with it, so surprised you had it working with it before.
