Re: So when will virgin start digging up the roads

it's very unlikely to happen - any additional coverage will be via LLU.

ie. when they originally dug up the roads 15-20 years ago it cost £500 per house to cable up - a massive undertaking.

Where did they say they were looking to expand the infrastructure?

I'm in a Virgin cabled area (was cabled up 10-15 years ago by Videotron then Cable&Wirless) but still stuck with Analogue TV and Dial-up internet!! Still no sign of when the network will be up graded!!

Re: So when will virgin start digging up the roads

Virgin will not be adding cabling anywhere just now. The expansion will be over the BT network to offnet customers.

Virgin will cover most of the UK if you add together the cabled network to the offnet areas.

Southampton was dug up and cabled up years ago etc BUT as far as I know most of Southampton (within Southampton Cities boundry) cannot get DTV or Broadband, yet there is the green cable boxs on every street in my part of Southampton
