Windows XP Service Pack 1 & 1a (SP1 & SP1a) support end 10th October 2006

Hi,

I have been told that WIndows XP Server Pack 1 & 1a has ended on the 10th October 2006, so I did a google and came up with a link to Microsoft about it, link: http://support.microsoft.com/gp/lifean19

Will I have any problems after I have upgraded to SP2, if so what ?

Do I need to do anything, other then upgrade like turn off the windows firewall ?

When my mate upgraded he found some norton stuff on it, he said it was not there before, but does SP2 install anything to do with Norton or did he really have it before ?

Regards,
Garry

Does anyone know of any issues that I may have, after installing SP2 ?

You could have all sorts of issues, but they're all very unlikely. Put it this way: if you have a WaveFinder DAB USB device it won't work in SP2. That's about as obscure as they are.

I can't believe you haven't moved to SP2 - I assume this machine's connected to the internet? Do you realise how unsecure it is?
