Windows Movie Maker problem

I've created a movie in WMM and added my own musical tracks and muted the original audio. When I save this as a DV-AVI file and then play it back I get audio glitches everytime there is a transition. However, if I save exactly the same as a WMV, it plays perfectly.

Any ideas as to why as I believe saving back to a DVD needs the highest possible quality, hence using DVI?

Re: Windows Movie Maker problem

Are all the files on the same HDD, music video etc, are you writing this DVI file to the same HDD, is the HDD 7200 RPM, is the HDD defragged, is it quite full?

'Yes' to all, apart from 'no' to the last one!

Have since found out others have had exactly the same problem, but still no answer

As a point of interest, if I burn the WMV file to DVD (with appropriate software to convert) will I notice a big difference in quality on my TV than if it had been an AVI file? If not, perhaps there's no need for me to worry too much?
