Moving....
Hey guys,
I'm on NTLs student £19.99 a month package, im about 7 months through a 12 month contract. I was just wondering what the situation will be when i move home for the summer to a non-cabled area. I am not returning to the same address after the summer, will this mean i will be able to get out of the contract, since i am moving?
Thanks for any help.
David

If you are on the NTL Student contract then it is only 9 months and not 12.
You will, however, have to pay out the remainder of your 9 months.

Re: Moving....
No, as far as i was told it was a twelve month contract, not the nine month contract. The thing is though, i have never actually seen the contract or signed anything, was just wondering where that leaves me in terms of trying to slip out of it (obviously i don't want to pay for something i am not going to use!).

Re: Moving....
How did you get your services if you never signed anything?

Re: Moving....
you don't always need to sign anything, by agreeing to have the equipment installed and using you have agreed to the terms.

Re: Moving....
Well, if you agreed to a contract you were told was for 12 months you should have expected to pay for 12 months!
What package have you got for £19.99? If it is a student special then it will have been for 9 months (even if you were told 12).

Re: Moving....
Well i was told it was 12 months, but it is a student special. I know, i will pay if there is no way of getting out of it obvously, but its worth a try, will phone them up tomorrow, and see what the score is.
Ah well!

Re: Moving....
As Bob says, if you're paying the student rate, you have pretty good grounds for insisting the contract duration is 9 months, not 12. Don't just cave in when you phone them tomorrow.
