problem about window 2K start selection

I installed a windows 2k in a Compaq Armada 6500 laptop sometime ago. When I installed the 2K, I, by mistake, did not overwrite the old Win 98, but install a new system. Now When I switch on the laptop, I am always asked to make a selection between 2K or 98, which is a bit annoying. Is there any way I can override this screen and directly go to 2K? How to do it?

Thanks in advance

Re: problem about window 2K start selection

Frank,

Right click on the 'My Computer' icon on the W2K desktop. Select 'Properties'. On the properties screen, select the 'advanced' tab. This should give the 'Startup and Recovery' button (about 2/3 down page). In this window you can 'Edit' the boot.ini file to remove the reference to W98. (Note: I only have XP atm, but I think W2K was the same)

Re: problem about window 2K start selection

Aragorn,

Thanks for your advice. I found Win 2k do not have 'edit' function. So I used notepad to modify boot.ini and it works perfect now. Thanks a lot!
