Kingston Comms are digging up streets in Lincoln

All down West Parade and in other parts of the city centre they're laying cable, and I can't work out what for, since it's already an NTL area.

Anyone got any ideas?

They also provide DTV via cable modem in the Hull area.

I don't know if they can provide this nationally

Well I knew that, I just wondered what they're doing digging up Lincoln.

I wonder if it's really worth the effort they're going through to provide telephony and broadband services in an area already served by BT and NTL (who have very many customers int he area already thanks to crap analogue TV reception).

I believe they already serve part of the south bank for Humberside Fire and Rescue Service as vans are often seen in the yards of the fire station.

They won't really be competitive outside of KuponH - those prices above are hardly joyous!

I fail to see why they're doing this. They only get away with in in Hull because BT never got there.

True, they offer nothing but an extra 10.5kB/s on the upload, for an extra £2 maybe, but to take another phoneline, and the hassle of changing isps aswell as the possibility of it not being as good, meh, its not worth it.
