Creative Nomad Jukebox Zen USB2

I have purchased one of these from Amazon. It arrived yesterday, I put the mains lead into it and started tranfering songs. After that, i let it charge all night.

Then this morning, I have a little listen, It lasted about 20 mins and then the power is gone.

Called creative support and they have said I have damaged the battery and basicly, there is nothing I can do.

HELP!

amazon returns policy? defective merchandising can be returned in 7 days cant it for a refund or replacement...

i cant see how charging overnight can destroy a li-ion pack unless the charger is faulty...
