) it'd save your noggin when a colleague on top of a carriage dropping a wrench on your head.
Friend of mine used to work on the railway, he had a few accidents like falling backwards onto a live rail (which thankfully the supervisor had turned off!) and getting his hands stuck in the join of two suction pipes in the braking system of two carriges which would have meant a trip up to Liverpool on the outside of the train if his supervisor hadn't found him!
