Speed problem

I've had this problem before, but could only solve it by doing a format and fresh install of Win XP - but now its started again
I can download at full speed (1MB=100 kB/s) via BitTorrent
But
HTTP downloads and robin Walker speed tests say 400 kbits/sec

and before you ask - yes I have closed down all torrent activity before running the tests
pulling my hair out here - I don't want to have to do another format - too much stuff to back up

any sensible suggestions welcome

Craig

Re: Speed problem

it could possibly be a proxy issue if your bittorent is downloading at full speed

try an alternative proxy because it might only be affecting browsing
