Angry NTL BB on router

Im tearing my hair out.

I simply cannot get my Router to work with the Cable Modem.
If i plug the Modem in via RJ45, straight into 1 PC it works fine.

Im using Dynamic IP WAN and DHCP is enabled on the router. But i get nothing at all. All the PCs are setup to recieve IPs, and it is assigning them correctly. The problem is between the Router and Modem.
You dont use PPPoE on NTL do you?

Re: NTL BB on router

What model is the router?
As long as its set to auto detect ip and dns,it should work ok.
Connect modem to router and pc then reboot in sequence
cable modem>router>pc.

Re: NTL BB on router

As above (you need to reboot the CM, etc). Also, a silly question, but you have connected the CM to the correct port on the router? (There have been one or two posts on here where people have connected the CM to one of the LAN ports on the router).

Re: NTL BB on router

Like John and maverick say, you need to do a complete reboot of all items:

Turn everything off and then back on in the following order (waiting until the device has completely rebooted and activity lights have settled before moving on to the next):

CM
Router
PC

Re: NTL BB on router

It was ridiclously simple.

The complete reboot solved it.

I started each device up 1 min after the other.

Thanks.
