Right, I'm pondering on my email autoresponder this year...
so far I have the nominal boring:

Thanks for your email. I would like to say that I will reply on my return on Jan 4th, but if truth be told yours and the other 2,999 emails that arrive while I'm on holiday will be consigned straight to the waste basket when I get back. Happy Christmas!
