wow - now you will be able to swear at someone from across a crowded room, or 'you outside now'.

- unfortunately, 'anyone fancy a quickie?' is more than 15 characters

Sorry to rain on your parade but i used to have a pen that did this wave messaging, and it was ok was rubbish. Couldn't read it at all, and you had to wave it so fast that your arm nearly fell off.

Doesn't actually mention whether this wonderful gadget can make phone calls... wasn't that what mobiles were designed for?!

resident cynic is now off to be cynical in another thread

lol - I have to, at this point, declare I don't own a mobile phone.

so I definitely take your point, but I also think that the networks can't be blamed for trying to recoup some of the huge investments they made in buying the licences for the extended services.

if gimmicks, like the wave back, can help sell devices which will access those services, I say good luck to them - but I'm still not getting a phone, I'm only away from a landline for an hour a day

I had one of those pens as well. Couldn't read it properly, but at least you gave your arm some exercise.
