Re: DECT phones
I have a cheapo Binatone, which we bought because its translucent blue plastic casing matched the decor in our front room. It does caller display and has a basic answerphone, and is still working well after 4 years although the LCD display is a bit pooched.

Re: DECT phones
Binatone E3250's (twin) here, also available in quad
http://www.argos.co.uk/webapp/wcs/st...roductId=96811 - at £49.00, possibly the cheapest quad pack there is.
Some say the range IS short, never noticed it.
The 20 NUMBER ONLY memory is not as great as having name/number, and the display is not backlit.
Standby time checked, and batteries still showing plenty of power at 100 hours, exceeding specification comfortably - the use of a a battery pack, though, is a disadvantage compared to models which take standard AAA or AA NiMH cells, if they need replacing.
No answerphone (we have an Olycom model which has an auto-1471 feature) and no base to handset intercom (locator ring only).

Saw these (Venturer DCT2002) on QVC
Good features, and great if you find most phones uncomfortably flat, since these kind of wrap around, more like a fixed line handset.

I totally agree with Mick (I think it was me that recommended the phones to him?)
They are a great phone (& obviously not made ny ntl! )
I'm actually looking to add extra handsets to mine at the mo, which I would much rather do as they are such a great phone.
