Bnp
Sorry to bring this one up again guys, but I'm stopping at my grandparents for a week and I just picked up the post off the doormat (I'm having a lazy day) and there were 4 flyer's for various political party's (Torys, Lib dems, UKIP and BNP) didn't really take much notice of the other three but I did have a fleeting glance at the BNP's.
The leaflet goes along the lines of: (sorry they don't have a scanner )
"TERRORIST TIME BOMB" "Asylum us allowing hundreds if "asylum bombers" to plan atrocities in Britain." "The Madrid train bombing has been linked to Moroccan 'asylum seekers' in London" RIGHT, so that must mean that its the government fault
"ASYLUM TIME BOMB" "There are 2 million illegal immigrants and 'asylum seekers' in Britain pushing our services benefit system and NHS to bursting point". However they don;t say how they'd do things differently
"EU TIME BOMB" "97% of asylum applications are bogus yet the politicians do nothing to stop the flood and protect us" What the hell this has to do with the EU
"FINANCIAL TIME BOMB" "asylum is blowing a massive hole in our pocket" "This year the figure[spent on asylum seekers I guess] will top £5 billion..... Thats £5 billion of taxpayers money that is being stolen from schools, hospitals, housing............." STOLEN!! These people really are preying on the illiterate. Has no one explained what asylum means?
"HOUSING TIME BOMB" "Asylum is ripping apart our country side. The government is already planning to build 5 new city's the size of Birmingham to accommodate 5 Million new immigrants" Thats gonna take some doing, and personally I cant see them getting it past the legislation thats in place to build on brown field sites
"Ordinary people like you Voting British National Party" Thats not even grammatically correct! However its not like me or anyone I know.
Next Page:
Some dodge out of context quotes from the main three party's:
"We are a stinger and better country, rich in our cultural diversity , because of the immigrant communities that have settled here." Michael Howard FEB 2004
"There is no upper limit on immigration into Britain." David Blunket NOV 2003
""We would abandon the attempt to use the asylum system to deter people from applying to enter this country!" Charles Kennedy March 2001
Next page:
"Make Britain Safe: Stop Asylum ForEver" We can all write acronyms
"SAFE borders." The BNP will take Britain out of the EC and reclaim our political and economic freedom" What like North Korea!
"SAFE Streets" "The asylum flood has helped to make Britain battleground for foreign confilcts.... The BNP will put our human rights first for a change". Have I missed something?? And I'm sure the court of human rights will agree with you on that one
"SAFE Homes" " The BNP will bring in the Tony Martin law giving householders the right to use whatever force is necessary to protect themselves.......... It's time for a change on crime - burglars have no 'rights' "
See my comment above
"SAFE Country" " 'political correctness' has played a major part in creating the unprecedented danger that we now face in this country." "[b]The BNP says: Britain is our country. People can love it or leave it." [b/] Again they really don't understand what asylum is so they (or maybe I'm confused, I thought it was for people who have nowhere else to go, persecution and all that)
Final page:
"The BNP is the voice of democracy." " On asylum and immigration, on crime, on Europe, on the NHS on the economy, the BNP is giving voice to the Long-suppressed wishes of the British people" Democracy .
And it ends with :
"My Dad isn't a racist!"
"The BNP is not racist" If you believe that you'll believe anything "Our argument is not with other people but with the politicians whose policies are destroying our country. We respect the right of every cultural and national group in the world to preserve their unique identity and heritage" As long as Johnny foreigner stays where he is!!!!! "Unlike the politicians, however, the BNP believes that we British should also have the right - the right to be ourselves in our own country living under our own laws and customs........ Is that too much to ask?"
This is accompanied with a photo of "BNP European election candidate Bruce Coward with family" and the slogan "My dad isn't a racist"
I've not read anything in my whole life that has made my blood boil so much, they really are sick. Not even the UKIP (with that ****** of the telly) make me as mad
My comments in red, any emphasis in the quotes is as in their leaflet.

Re: Bnp
This is what the bnp do every time, they pick an issue, or a number of issues, that happen to be close to the public's heart - or is a particular bug bear saying how they will end this problem, how the other parties aren't doing anything to help.
They use nice little one liners, that hope to appeal to people - who will hopefully say things like 'Hmmm.. yes, it's about time someone stood up against X - maybe I will vote bnp this time - after all it says they not racist, they're just looking out for my interests, which none of the other parties will do'.
They have nice little pictures of the candidates, with their family, all dressed up smartly, because as everyone knows, you can tell what a racist looks like by how they dress, and if they dress smartly they can't be a racist. (well apart from that Hitler guy who had a passion for uniforms, that was just a one off, of course..)
Of course they dont add in the small print that says 'oh yes and after we've sorted out X issue, we'll try and get rid of anyone who is black, brown, yellow, off white, leaving only the pure white people, you know the "super race" that that guy with a penchant for uniforms kept talking about'
Doesn't matter how you dress them up (and I apologise for the expression, it's not a word I like) , a c**t in a suit, is still a c**t

The decent Afro-Caribbean voters of London who do not want their children to be drawn into a sub-culture of depravity, drugs and gun crime will, we trust, be joining the legions of concerned native Britons on June 10th and voting for the only party that has the guts to fight this kind of sick and violent behaviour without being shackled by the millstone of political correctness.

Do they honestly think this is going to happen or are they just looking for a reaction?

Re: Bnp
While I do think that something has to be done regarding the amount of "Asylum Seekers" coming into this country, I think the BNP will not solve anything. My biggest problem with the current situation is why do they pass through other EU countries on the way here. Something attracts them, and it isn't the weather!
But as I say, the BNP are using these issues just to gain a foothold. They would have no reasonable solution themselves.
As for the "Tony Martin Law", what a joke. I agree that you should be able to protect your property from burglars etc., and some of the cases where burglars have been injured and have taken the householder to court for compensation, is scandelous. However, the worst cases where burglars or whoever break into peoples homes happen against the elderly. It is unlikely any such law would protect these people. Again, the BNP is praying on peoples fears.
The rest just isn't worth comment, except for the last bit. "My Dad isn't a racist". How would this guys family know, if they've been brought up in an atmosphere of racism, fear, and the BS the BNP peddle. They have been brainwashed.

Does this include the right to be involved in football hooliganism? That's exactly what the BNP councillor in my area has been charged with. (He's not my councillor I hasten to add!).

Re: Bnp
I can't believe that leaflet!
I hate the BNP
But I feel they are likely to make more gains in the local elections this year, & maybe even the European ones
Voter apathy must help them, I think (less turnout for mainstream candidates, easier for fringe scummers to get seats). Plus they also probably benefit in some areas where there are not candidates from all the mainstream parties (e.g. I remember reading recently that at the last local elections, there were some wards that had no Tory candidates at all, & the BNP votes increased, because some natural Tory voters voted BNP instead because of "asylum" & so on...)
Although people who vote for them are exercising their democratic right to do so, I wish they would open their eyes & realise what a bunch of ignorant, racist, fascist *******s it is that they are putting their X next to.
Despite what they claim, the BNP *are* racist.

Recent stories & bits...
"BNP leader accused of exploiting sex claims"
Quote:
Matthew Taylor
Monday May 24, 2004
The Guardian
Nick Griffin, the chairman of the British National party, was accused of stirring up racial tension last night after spending the weekend in Bradford trying to find evidence of young white girls being groomed for sex by Asian men.
Last week Channel 4 postponed showing a documentary on the subject after it emerged that the far-right BNP was trying to exploit the issue in the run-up to next month's local and European elections. Programme makers made their decision after West Yorkshire police said the film risked triggering violence in a racially tense area.
Colin Cramphorn, the chief constable, said white and Asian men had been arrested following a two-year investigation and the matter was one of child protection which had nothing to do with race, despite the claims of the far right.
But last night Phil Edwards, the BNP's official spokesman, said Mr Griffin was making his own film which would be included in the party's election broadcast on Friday. "This will be in the party political broadcast, because it is true," he said.
"There is something about these Asian blokes that they like these young girls, something to do with their religion, they can not get it in their own communities. I'm not sure exactly what it is, I don't know that much about their religion and really I don't want to."
His comments and the BNP's attempt to stir up trouble in Bradford were condemned last night.

Mayoral hopefuls unite against BNP
Matthew Tempest, political correspondent
Friday May 14, 2004
Ken Livingstone, Steve Norris and Simon Hughes today put on a rare show of unity to urge London voters to turn out to defeat the openly racist British National party in next month's elections.
The three candidates for London mayor launched a joint campaign with Operation Black Vote under the slogan: "The racists are more dangerous than ever - they are voting."
The main parties fear that a low overall turnout on June 10 would make it easier for the BNP to pass the 5% hurdle which would give them a top-up seat on the London assembly.
Mr Norris, the Conservative candidate, said it would be a "stain on London" if the race-hate party was elected, while Mr Livingstone told reporters: "Politicians often ask you to vote for them but on this occasion I am just asking you to vote."
Mr Hughes, trailing the other two men in the polls, but hoping to make a final run-off and win on voters' second preferences', warned the BNP could "sneak a seat through the back door of voter apathy".
Mr Livingstone said: "The BNP is a far-right party that thrives on race hate. Every vote Londoners cast will make it more difficult for the BNP to get elected."
"[A BNP seat] would deal a devastating blow to community relations in the most diverse city in the world."
The mayor added: "They stand for racism, bigotry and the destruction of the trade unions. They have no place in the London assembly, the European parliament or the local council anywhere in Britain."
Mr Livingstone is chairman of the Unite Against Fascism campaign, which also includes leading trade unionists and church leaders.
Mr Norris said: "I am appalled at the prospect of the BNP getting an assembly member elected.
"London is the greatest city in the world and if the BNP win a seat it would be a stain on the capital's reputation."

Minority retort
We can halt the far right's rise in London and the north
Hugh Muir
Friday May 14, 2004
The Guardian
In the north of England, the alarm has sounded. With the British National party holding 17 council seats and expecting gains in next month's local and European elections, the major parties are mobilising.
The BNP's most fervent hope is that its leader, Nick Griffin, will get the 9% of votes he needs to become a Euro MP for the North-west, allowing him to emulate the poisonous activities of Jean-Marie Le Pen, his mentor across the Channel.
But in fact the party's best chance of moving from the town halls to a grander stage is in London. In the past three months, two polls have revealed that Londoners love the city's diversity. But this week another poll warned that on June 10 the BNP could secure a seat in the London assembly.
Proportional representation means that the BNP only needs about 5% of the vote to catapult Jason Douglas into City Hall. According to a YouGov poll, in the current atmosphere, with Muslims and asylum-seekers seen as enemies of the state, it could succeed. Last time in London the BNP registered only 2%. The latest poll suggests it has 5% already. The survey also says the turnout could be just 24%, creating the conditions the BNP thrives in.
It is not hard to see why the racist party craves a London assembly seat. Unlike local councillors, assembly members elected from party lists have the right to claim a mandate from the whole of London. They have the benefits of office, the resources, the staffing and the media recognition. Mr Douglas and his party - which in its senior ranks includes convicted thugs, football hooligans, vandals, police bashers, gay bashers and fraudsters - will be in a position to influence key committees. He could use his own experience to help the Metropolitan police authority, with football hooligan convictions going back 14 years.
Elections of BNP councillors invariably result in an increase in racist attacks. Last week, as BNP supporters held an event in Hounslow, west London, an Asian man was seriously assaulted.

Vote to keep the BNP out
Monday May 24, 2004
The Guardian
Unite Against Fascism has warned that there could be a low turnout for this year's European elections. The British National party is fielding candidates across the UK in what will be the biggest electoral assault ever mounted by the extreme right in Britain.
The goal of groups such as the BNP is to have at least 16 extreme-right MEPs from five different countries elected to be recognised as an official group within the European parliament. A Mori poll forecast that the turnout could be as low as 18% - this could allow the far-right to win seats in Britain. To not vote is to let the BNP in.

Re: Bnp
I'll scan the leaflet when I get home on Thursday, you can all see what a spod the guy is. However I'm not at all surprised that Jay said we didn't get one at home, what with Leicester being a city with a large immigrant population.
I really should go and see what their site says about us queers, wonder if they have changed the page name from http://www.bnp.org.uk/homos ??

July News Items
Gay Rights Secret Agenda Exposed
One of its most controversial, hard-hitting editions ever published, the July issue of the patriotic American WorldNetDaily's acclaimed Whistleblower magazine is a stunning expose of the homosexual activist movement.
"This issue of the magazine is breathtaking," said Editor and CEO Joseph Farah. "I don't think most people, even WND's sophisticated readership, know what 'gay rights' is really all about. The July issue just vaporizes the movement's slick marketing veneer, and then documents thoroughly the nightmarish world these powerful, well-funded activists have in store for America's children."
Called "'Gay' rights' secret agenda," the issue explores "How and why the homosexual activist movement has targeted America's children."
"Gay characters have become the norm on sitcoms," writes Steve Baldwin in one of the issue's reports. "It has become fashionable to attack the Boy Scouts; homosexual propaganda inundates many of America's public schools; nearly all the mainstream religious denominations have 'revised' their understanding of biblical teaching concerning homosexuality; and the gay 'rights' legislative agenda is succeeding beyond the advocates' wildest imaginations."
Thus, says Baldwin, "it is difficult to convey the . However, it is time to acknowledge that homosexual behadark side of the homosexual culture without appearing harshvior threatens the foundation of Western civilization & the nuclear family. An unmistakable manifestation of the attack on the family unit is the homosexual community's efforts to target children both for their own sexual pleasure and to enlarge the homosexual movement.

According to UK Health Statistics 10% of UK population is "gay". BNP's daily mailbox receives about 2-3% messages from male and female claiming to be patriotic gays. Views differ enormously.....controversial but we are THE only political UK party that will allow debate between mature and educated people despite the widespread abhorence felt by most about same-sex relationships.
Openly homosexual Michael writes:
As a gay, people would probably support your cause for a more british britain. We are sick and tired of the way things are too. Gay people do not choose to be gay it is the way we are and many people are not happy with it themselves. However the majority of us learn to live with it very young and then it becomes our natural way of life, with the same values as a heterosexual relationship. We are not the people that molest children, they are normally sick hetero's, they are usually not gay. I feel that if you changed your policies toward gay people, you would quickly increase support for your cause. We are just as British as you are and want the same things in relation to britain being british and british people being a majority instead of a minority, which seems to be happening v. fast. Gay people keep themselves to themselves and do not cause harm to anyone else. The majority of us are very good, caring people who want a good British life, irrespective of our sexual preferences. I hope that you take heed of my comments and respect my point of view, as for the whole, i respect yours and agree with most of them. As I said, we are very british too and want to stay that way.

I'm not sure if it's as much voter apathy, that the apathy and total lack of understanding shown by the mainstream parties. Okay, I know the government has been tinkering with the asylum system, but that's all it is. I can't remember any party asking why THIS country is such a lure over and above other EU countries such as France, Germany etc. And if they don't ask the question, how are they ever going to find a proper solution?
Again on the Tony Martin point. I can't remember a mainstream political party really getting to grips with how vunerable some householders feel. The situation of these exclusion orders (or whatever they are called) given to unruly kids and teenagers. These thing don't do much. They stop one person, but do nothing about the gangs of youths etc. hanging about on the street corner every night, frightening pensioners.
The hot topic for the mainstream parties seems to be the European Constitution, and protectiong the Houses of Parliament against terrorists. If you ask a pensioner who keeps getting his windows smashed, what's the top of their list, it wouldn't be these two topics.
I say to the main parties - WAKE UP, OPEN YOUR EYES, LOOK WHAT IS HAPPENING, AND LISTEN TO US!!!!!
