E-mail viruses, spam, and trash

I'm rapidly going insane every day as I look forward to my "10" new E-mails only to find out they are all either:

1. Invitations to porn clubs and money off software

2. The prince of canada who has to give me his thousands of dollars to look after.

3. invitations to dating sites.

And most of all the ones that are faked NTL ones or faked whatever, with an attached virus to the E-mail.

I'm getting these virus e-mails contantly and its really fustrating.

Can anyone reccomend something to stop this mass build up of trash and viruses in my mail box.

At this rate when I go on holiday I will come back to find a million new E-mails.

This really is not good from NTL. You'd think they could deal with this virus stuff.

Re: E-mail viruses, spam, and trash

Dont use your NTL account and move over to your own account (buy a website or something), or get a free one from someone else.

Sounds like a crap reply i agree, but as everyone seems to complain about NTL's e-mail anyway then it may be a good idea. I have my own email account from my own website which isnt published anywhere on the site and i havent had 1 spam message in a long time.

Norton do an Anti-Spam product as well and there are freeware spam filters like Popfile (see here - http://popfile.sourceforge.net/) which can do a similar job, but require a POP3 account.

Good luck.
