Re: Football World Cup 2010
We are going to play the best teams in the World Cup, England must pick the best players for it, and the way it is at the moment they are a farce, some of the players he could pick are the automatic ones, that normally pick, he should pick them on performance, and some of the players that played in that poor game, should NOT be on the plane, they are playing for there COUNTRY and the SHIRT, NOT just the money.

England’s footballers will donate their World Cup match fees to charity for the first time.
In doing so, Fabio Capello’s squad, which left Heathrow for their training camp in Austria this morning, will raise more than £1 million for charities such as WellChild, Children’s Hospices UK, the Bobby Moore Fund, the PFA and the Team England Footballer’s Charity Outreach Programme.

Re: Football World Cup 2010
Same old rubbish, quarter finals here we come! If that. Seriously though, Robert Green and Upson? Both play for a team that narrowly avoided relegation and considering they're a CB & GK they shoulder a bit of the blame. Carrick is average at best, Heskey is beyong a joke.
So much for Capello picking people who are fit and in form, like he said he would. Another England manager with no bottle.

Re: Football World Cup 2010
I can't fathom leaving Dawson out at all. He's easily been one of the best CBs in the EPL let alone english CBs. So much for picking players on form. Upson has been better?
Carrick has also had a useless season. And Barry is crocked. Yet Huddlestone still can't get a look in?
And Heskey? WTF?

Re: Football World Cup 2010
I don't understand SWP over Walcott either. Heskey I am ok with because he seems to do better with England and is a team player, even if he doesn't score goals.

Re: Football World Cup 2010
I think looking at a single player is wrong, we need to look at the whole team and the various possibilities and also who's recently playing well with who

Re: Football World Cup 2010
What l find a luagh is that Ledley King doesn't train at Spurs, turns up on the day and plays, and has dogey knees and only plays every two games, is going to the WC and yet Dawson has been brilliant all season and is left out, what the hell is the manager playing - and l am a Spurs fan.

Probably because Ledley King is by far the better player and obviously proved his fitness over the past couple of weeks. Its not like either of them would get a game anyway unless Ferdinand or Terry get injured, it definately wont be more than 2 in a week so his fitness isn't really an issue.
I'm glad Capello hasn't let Walcotts hat-trick against Croatia sway his decision, hes been awful for England since then and not much better for Arsenal. He showed it again in the two warm up matches, he's quick and thats about it, for a winger his final ball is awful.
I would have liked to see Adam Johnson get in the squad, but his lack of experiance went against him, definately one for the future though.
As for Englands goalkeeper situation, its definately going to be the case of picking the best from a bad bunch.
