It would be beneficial to get it on the current system as it would be of great help to customers to keep track, especially with all the channel close-downs, and movement of shows that is currently happening.

Didn't the current STBs have something similar when on the NTL software. I seem to remember there being a Service messages option in the menu but I don't think there was ever any messages sent.

If you look at the Tivo boxes provided directly by the cable operator in the US netflix is not available, or amazon I think although you do have access to the cable operators own on demand services. I think blockbuster is available on RCN but not other platforms.
If you buy your own Tivo (not from the cable operator) then you CAN access netflix and blockbuster but you cannot currently access the operators own on demand services.
Seems mostly like one or the other, at least over there.

Yeah not a bad feature so long as it is utilised, Sky have rarely used their message feature I think.

Re: TiVo
LOL at the "Messages" feature being new.
Our very first Scientific Atlanta analogue CATV box from Diamond Cable had this feature!

Would this have anything to do with when they may release details about Tivo to customers:

Re: TiVo
I'd imagine the info will be released before the next lot of results are out.

Re: TiVo
No that's the normal notification they send out before a quarterly earnings release. Being 17 days away, it gives them a lot of chances to make several announcements, which I've noticed they tend do to the run up of and then go quiet until the next time round.

But maybe one of those announcements could be Tivo related. I know you are all probably thinking "straws" and "clutching", but what else can we do!

Re: TiVo
They never give release dates or announcements for this, you get vague stuff about future products, last few times we have all waited for HD channel info but nothing ever happened.

That's what I thought... Surely it's in MLB interests to have as many devices as possible with their App, as they would be recieving the subscription...
So will it just be a case of Virgin waiting for the highest bidders.. . though with MLB.TV there is no competition unlike a film provider..
Does the Tivo have limited App space..
