ok. the SH2 can be mounted to the wall but you'll have to do it yourself or ask third party as VM wont do it please remember the kit belongs to VM and that it wasn't designed to be wall mounted so if it gets damaged you, the customer wanting it wall mounted will be left with a problem, possibly paying a charge for damaging the kit. terms and cons apply. i dont work for VM.
It would stick out from the wall then - I think people want to wall mount it so it's parallel with the wall
Yep I want to be able to reclaim some of my desk space, so mounting on a wall is easy. Previous VM modems, current Superhub, and many standalone routers all allow wall mounting. At least by allowing the connections from the rear rather than a side it would now sit nicely on a shelf.
I accept what everyone says that wireless may suffer if the aerials aren't aligning nicely to the other kit if it is on a wall (or even a shelf), but the option to compromise oneself would be useful. It's a similar problem with things like TiVo, that are now nicely curved, and so you can't stack your hi-fi kit, blu-ray and related stuff nicely.
All I'm saying is that it hasn't been designed with wall mounting in mind!! If it had been designed for that, there would probably be external antennas or a detachable base like the SH1 has.
