I don't think it's an anomaly, I've hit 100mbit on 2.4Ghz at home. I think what a lot of people miss when it comes to wireless is that it's not just the router but the wireless receiver as well that makes all the difference.

Spot on. Most people's first reaction when they're not getting the speed they're 'paying for' is to blame their ISP. More often than not, I suspect, the fault is in their own equipment.

Very true. You buy a router with multiple bands and channels to make the most of your 120Mb connection, then find your new laptop has a cheap wifi card that only supports one channel at 2.4GHz.

I don't have a SH2 at present, but have you got PPTP passthrough enabled on the SH2? It's usually off by default.
Well it was on the SH1 whichs stopped my works VPN connection working.

Yes that is set correctly. Its slightly different on SH2 - you have to set the passthrough and also set up port forwarding rule which I've done with my desktop as the IP for the rule.
It connects - but no data received or sent. I've checked firewall it says vpn "is connected".

Re: superhub 2
Just blagged my way to a free SH2 from retentions - Only 2 months into my contract on premiere collection.
It helps if you have previously reported issues with wifi. But the first person I spoke to yesterday offered it for £20. Spoke to a lad today, I didn't think he would give it for free, but to my surprise I didn't have to haggle at all. He asked what the problem was and ordered the SH2, only confirming delivery data.
Due on Tuesday and he will credit my account with any costs. I confirmed it will be free and took note of his name.
Credit to the guys on this thread and CF.

Re: superhub 2
Just installed the SH2 but can't see any 5 GHz channels on inSSIDer.
Probably a daft question but do I need a device that uses that range to see?

Yes, you need a wireless card that can see the 5ghz band for inSSIDer to be able to display that information.
