Re: Greater Manchester policemen jailed for 'cruelty'

I still prefer venison. or barbecued pork, beef, umm.. ok, I am a carnivore!

back to the police issue.

Ok, this thread is currently on it's second page. Time to say what I think. (doing this because sometimes when I post in a thread, it goes quiet)

IMO the police involved deserved what they got. and why? because they are police? no. Because they ABUSED their positions as well as the 19 yr old.

They are in a uniform in order not only to uphold the law but to set an example. They failed, miserably, they set the example of yobs in a uniform and for that they deserved to be made an example of.

It is as I said. Some police when on duty put on an attitude along with the uniform. This is an extreme example of this, and was dealt with in an equally extreme way (custodial sentences)

Why was this more harsh than with others? because they are supposed to be leading by example.

Quis custodiet ipsos custodes?

you do? strange that cuz you called what Derek did was "black humour" which by definition is "the juxtaposition of morbid and farcical elements (in writing or drama) to give a disturbing effect "

We have a winner!

Yep, next time I make a joke I'll prefix it with a warning in red flashing letters as being obvious about it and adding a smiley isn't enough anymore.

You obviously forgot by virtue of being a serving Police Officer that you are not allowed by law to show humour or you may face a disciplinary panel.
