Are you sure the www should be there mate?
Lots of these companys use sub-domains.... the subdomain would take the place of "www".

This is really starting to get to me. I copy and paste exactly as they appear in the email into the fields requested. (The Details)
I then set up my webserver and got this message "The server name or address could not be resolved." What now?

Juding by the details you've given us, to fill that form in you'd need;
Login : (The username you gave, or they gave you)
Domain : madgamer_4.thefreeserver.net
Password : (That password they provided you in the email)
As homealone said, these may be case sensitive so make sure they're exactly the same.

forget 'free' and pay for a domain name & 'proper' hosting. - imo. Mine costs me around £2 a month.......... - that's nearly (if not really), free

Have they definately confirmed activation of your account yet?
Also check the following;
- Make sure you're not cutting and pasting any blank spaces or html code with your password/username.
- You may need to try variations on the domain name, eg 'thefreeserver.net' or just 'madgamer_4'
